Homemade Marshmallow Fudge Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 and 2/3 cups white sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 pack (6 oz) milk chocolate chips
- 16 marshmallows
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Fudge Mixture
- In a saucepan, combine the white sugar, evaporated milk, unsalted butter, and salt. Place the saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. It should come to a gentle boil. Keep stirring to ensure the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture starts to thicken slightly.
Step 2: Incorporate Chocolate and Marshmallows
- Once the mixture is heated through, stir in the milk chocolate chips. Continue stirring until the chocolate chips are fully melted and well combined with the mixture.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add in the marshmallows, pure vanilla extract, and chopped walnuts (if using). Stir the mixture thoroughly to evenly distribute all ingredients.
Step 3: Set and Cut the Fudge
- Pour the prepared fudge mixture into an 8-inch square pan lined with parchment paper or greased lightly with butter.
- Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature. You can refrigerate it for faster setting.
- Once the fudge has set and hardened, remove it from the pan. Cut it into squares of your desired size using a sharp knife.
Step 4: Serving the Fudge
- Arrange the cut fudge squares on a serving plate or store them in an airtight container. Serve and enjoy this delicious homemade marshmallow fudge!
Note: Ensure the fudge has fully cooled and set before cutting to achieve clean, neat squares.
