Delicious Egg Salad for Sandwiches
An Easy and Flavorful Classic
Ingredients:
- 8 large eggs
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
- 1/4 cup chopped green onion
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Fresh dill (optional), finely chopped, for added flavor
Directions:
- Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Bring the water to a boil, then immediately remove the saucepan from the heat source. Cover the saucepan and allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove the eggs from the hot water, cool them under cold running water, and then peel and chop them finely.
- Transfer the chopped eggs to a mixing bowl. Add mayonnaise, prepared mustard, chopped green onion, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Optionally, sprinkle in some paprika for color and additional flavor.
- For extra zest, consider incorporating freshly chopped dill into the mixture. This adds a delightful herbaceous note to the egg salad.
- Gently stir all the ingredients together until well combined.
- Serve the egg salad on your preferred choice of bread, such as white, wheat, or whole grain. Additionally, this egg salad pairs wonderfully with crackers or as a filling for wraps.
- Refrigerate any leftover egg salad in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Enjoy this simple and flavorful egg salad as a delightful sandwich filling or a tasty snack!
