Water Cake: Light and Delicious Vegan Dessert 🍰

INGREDIENTS:

  • 150g (3/4 cup) sugar
  • 310ml (1 1/4 cups) water
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 45ml (1/4 cup) seed oil
  • 330g (2 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour
  • 16g (1 tbsp) baking powder
  • 5g (1/2 tbsp) vanillin
  • A pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar (for decoration)

METHOD:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, water, lemon zest, and seed oil. Mix well.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, vanillin, and salt. Combine thoroughly.
  3. Pour the liquid mixture into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
  5. Pour the cake batter into a 20cm cake mold and transfer it to the preheated oven.
  6. Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
  8. Carefully unmold the cake and transfer it to a serving plate.
  9. Decorate the cake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
  10. Cut the cake into slices and serve.
