Water Cake: Light and Delicious Vegan Dessert 🍰
INGREDIENTS:
- 150g (3/4 cup) sugar
- 310ml (1 1/4 cups) water
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 45ml (1/4 cup) seed oil
- 330g (2 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour
- 16g (1 tbsp) baking powder
- 5g (1/2 tbsp) vanillin
- A pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar (for decoration)
METHOD:
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, water, lemon zest, and seed oil. Mix well.
- In a separate mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, vanillin, and salt. Combine thoroughly.
- Pour the liquid mixture into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix everything together until well combined.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F).
- Pour the cake batter into a 20cm cake mold and transfer it to the preheated oven.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool slightly.
- Carefully unmold the cake and transfer it to a serving plate.
- Decorate the cake with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
- Cut the cake into slices and serve.
