FOR COOKIES:
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup all-purpose flour
FOR glaze:
2 tablespoons butter, softened
3 tablespoons of milk
2 tablespoons bitter cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
How to make cookies for the lady’s dinner
Preheat
oven to 350˚F. Line a 9″ x 9″ baking pan with foil, making sure the foil extends slightly over the sides.
In a bowl, combine the sugar and butter into a paste, stirring until the mixture changes color and texture. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until completely combined.
Slowly add
flour and cocoa powder and mix until an even color is obtained. Pour the batter into a baking pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out almost dry and comes out with a few moist crumbs. For optimal consistency, do not boil.
While the cookies are cooling, begin the frosting. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, milk, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar until smooth. If the mixture is too dry, add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time. If the mixture is too runny, add a spoonful of powdered sugar.
When the frosting has reached the right consistency, spread it over the cookies while they are still warm, allowing some of the frosting to melt into the cookies. Cut into squares and remove the cookies from the oven with the foil
