Easiest Sourdough Bread

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, water, and salt. Mix until well combined and a shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 8-12 hours.
  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and place a Dutch oven or a heavy pot with a lid in the oven to heat up.
  • Once the oven is heated, carefully remove the pot from the oven and take off the lid.
  • Using floured hands, shape the dough into a round loaf and place it in the pot. Cover the pot with the lid and return it to the oven.
  • Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  • Carefully remove the bread from the pot and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
