Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 3-4 ounces smoked gouda cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. Prepare Seasoning Mixture:
  • In a small bowl, combine the cayenne, garlic powder, paprika, and pepper.
  1. Prepare Chicken:
  • Flatten the chicken breasts to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Season both sides of the chicken with the cayenne mixture.
  1. Stuff Chicken:
  • Place a small piece or slices of smoked gouda cheese on each chicken breast. Roll up the chicken, pressing firmly to secure the cheese inside.
  1. Wrap with Bacon:
  • Wrap each stuffed chicken breast with a slice of bacon, ensuring it covers the entire surface.
  1. Brown the Chicken:
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the bacon-wrapped chicken until the bacon just begins to crisp.
  1. Bake:
  • Transfer the browned chicken breasts to a baking dish and bake in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crispy.
  1. Serve:
  • Once cooked, remove the bacon-wrapped smoked gouda stuffed chicken from the oven. Allow it to rest for a few minutes before serving.
