A few days ago, I learned a surprisingly effective floor cleaning trick from a professional cleaner who has been in the industry for over 30 years. According to her, cleaning floors with this method not only ensures exceptional cleanliness but also prevents dust from accumulating quickly. Many people complain that even after mopping, the floor quickly becomes covered in dust and sometimes even emits an unpleasant odor. This problem is especially noticeable in the summer. If the floor isn’t thoroughly cleaned, a musty or sour odor can quickly develop in any room, making the room feel unpleasant.
Add this to the water you use to wash your floors and your floors will be sparkling clean, like new, and dust-free for a whole week without washing – 1
That’s when I realized how useful this cleaning method is. Before you start mopping, the first and most important step is to thoroughly sweep the floor. If the floor is still covered with dust, hair, or debris, simply mopping will only spread the dirt and make it harder to clean thoroughly.
After sweeping, prepare a bucket of water and add the following ingredients to it in order:
First, add a handful of coarse salt. Salt speeds up the drying of the floor and also acts as a natural disinfectant, killing bacteria and germs.
Then add a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Dishwashing liquid has powerful degreasing properties. If there are oil stains, spilled food, or sticky residue on the floor, the dishwashing liquid will dissolve the grease and leave the surface much cleaner.
Add this to the mopping water, and your floors will be sparkling clean, like new, and won’t get dusty for a whole week without mopping – 2
Then, add a small amount of white vinegar or freshly squeezed lemon juice. These acidic ingredients help soften stubborn stains, making them easier to remove. They also leave the floor looking brighter and cleaner after mopping.
Then, add a little rubbing alcohol to the mixture. Alcohol has excellent disinfecting properties and helps prevent mold and mildew growth, especially in humid weather.
Continue by adding a small amount of baking soda. Baking soda is known for its powerful deodorizing and cleaning properties. It helps neutralize odors and effectively removes dirt without damaging the floor surface.
